Key Theatre, Peterborough, 6-7 March, 2025

Old Fire Station, Oxford, 14-15 March, 2025

Welcome

Fir Tree Theatre is dedicated to ensuring that theatre is accessible to all individuals, regardless of their background, socio-economic status, or level of experience with the arts.  We are based in Oxford and are proud to work with other local creative groups such as Oxfordshire Theatre Makers.

By fostering an inclusive environment and offering a diverse range of performances and programs, we aim to bring the joy and enrichment of the stage to the widest possible audience.

Our commitment to inclusivity and community engagement underscores our belief that everyone should have the opportunity to experience and participate in the transformative power of live theatre.

We are here to encourage more diversity, particularly in Oxfordshire where we have had extreme difficulty in finding Global Majority creatives, specifically actors (and indeed have had to adapt scripts accordingly) and where it is clear that Global Majority audience numbers do not reflect the diversity of the local population.

Research shows that there is a staggering under-representation of Global Majority creatives in Oxford.  We aim to create opportunities for local Global Majority creatives, not only actors, directors and writers but also other theatre creative roles such as sound, set and light design etc.

News

Following its successful performances at the Burton Taylor Studio, Oxford and its world premiere at The Key Theatre, Peterborough, commissioned by Landmark Theatres UK, we are thrilled to announce that Remember Me will reach even broader audiences in 2025, by popular demand.

Supported by Arts Council England funding, the play will be staged at The Old Fire Station in Oxford and The Key Theatre in Peterborough, enabling us to share its powerful impact and inspire vital conversations about memory, identity, and the emotional toll of Alzheimer’s.
